Fun Friday!!

This morning I had to get up at 6:00 to take the boys to our church. They are going to Invincible in Atlanta with the youth group. I am sure they will have lots of fun!!

But anyway this left me and my girls to spend the day together. What to do, what to do??

Well first we went to the hair salon. The girls got their bangs trimmed and I decided to get my hair colored. This is something that I struggle with spending the money on. I generally really like it when I get it done, but then I feel guilty about the cost. This is how I would describe my hair this morning before going to have it done. . .the top three inches or so were half very dark (my natural color) and half gray (unfortunately also my natural color), the rest was lighter brown (with a hint of red where the previous color had faded) with gray mixed in.

Now that you know what I looked like (pretty awful) I will get on with the story. "A" is so funny, she asked me on the way to the salon if I was just getting one hair cut. After a little giggle, I replied, "No, I think that I will get all of them cut today." Then while we were in the salon she came over and asked me if I got my hair painted yet. Everyone found this extremely cute. When asked what color mommy should "paint" her hair, she replied, "PINK!!!". So now I am happy to say that I have pink hair!! ---LOL ---NOT REALLY!! It is just a nice plain brown. I always fear that it will be too dark or too red, but it looks pretty good. Now if I could just figure out how to get the courage to spend the money regularly to keep it looking this way!!!

Then after the hair salon we went to lunch at Olive Garden. Bread sticks and salad!! Who could ask for anything more? YUM

We had a good time together. We are always so rushed and feel hurried through life. But days like today when there are no time limits and you can just enjoy each other are priceless.

I am so thankful for my children. They are such a blessing to me.

Glad to hear you don't have pink hair! I too color my hair because I'd be mostly gray. Ugh. I can't do that at 42. Maybe in a few years. But I understand not wanting to pay to have it done. I've been lucky so far (knock on wood) and been able to do the "color in a box" stuff. There will come a time when I have to pay big bucks for it.

Sounds like you had a great mom and kids day!!!

Sounds like you had an awesome day! I know what you mean about paying money to get my hair colored. In a week the kids and I are getting our pictures taken to be on the cover of a local magazine. Buy my color from my makeover last August has obviously grown out and my dark roots are showing. Now do I really want to be on the cover of a magazine with dark roots? Or do spend the bucks to get it colored. I'm thinking I really don't have a choice so I shouldn't feel guilty, right? Right?

Oh, and Olive Garden is one of my favorite restaurants!

What a wonderful "princess for the day" time you had! It makes me want to set aside a little time to go out and do something special with my daughter. Yesterday we spend the afternoon playing hide and seek...but today we just might go out for a special lunch :)
