I had to take Miguel to the airport yesterday. The girls rode with us and they were quite sad to say goodbye. They colored pictures for him the whole way to the airport (approx. a 3 hour drive). He didn't have any room left in his bag for even one more picture. Katie cried on Saturday night. She did not want Miguel to forget her.
He came to stay with us for a month from Spain. We had such a good time with him here. We enjoyed hearing about Spain, his family, and the differences in our culture. All the children enjoyed having another big brother in the house. We will miss him now that he has gone home. We hope that there will be a time when he can come again to visit us.

And then we were seven. . . at least for a little while.

We even had a picture taken with Miguel. He is the boy from Spain who is staying with us for one month. We are very much enjoying having him here with us. He is great with the children and it is nice to share our culture with him as we learn about his. We hope that he is enjoying his stay here with us.

Our Exchange Student
We are excited about welcoming an International Exchange Student into our home for the next month. I will travel to the airport tomorrow to pick him up and he will become part of our family until July 27th. He is 16 years old and is from Spain. He will be coming to the U.S. to work on his English skills.
The children are all looking forward to him coming. C is actually welcoming the idea that for a short time he will have a "big brother". A is a little bit confused about it. She really doesn't know what to think.
